Our company participated jointly with a large domestic shipbuilding company in the 21-year purchase conditional new product development project, and on April 14, 2021, we received notification of being selected as the final agreement target after going through several evaluation processes and overcoming a high competition rate of 5:1.

In order to overcome challenges in economic activities in the manufacturing sector due to the ever-decreasing production population, policies are being implemented at the government level to secure competitiveness in the manufacturing sector through various support projects such as the 4th industry and smart factories. The pipe industry in shipbuilding is experiencing a growing need for automation as it becomes increasingly difficult to find qualified welders.
On the basis of this project, which is being developed by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, a major domestic shipbuilding enterprise, and a government-funded research institute, attempts will be made to increase productivity and quality in the shipbuilding piping industry.
There are restrictions on how much production can be increased because GTAW welding is the technology used; nevertheless, this project will use a technique that can increase both productivity and quality. Furthermore, we intend to leverage this technology to advance the orbital technology that has already been established, improve services in the piping sector for other industries like semiconductors and plants, and broaden the application in the shipbuilding sector.
