Agreement ceremony for establishing automatic welding of eco-friendly ship pipes for smart shipyard production innovation

On July 7, 2021, our company attended an agreement signing ceremony with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology regarding automatic welding of pipes in the shipbuilding and marine fields.

Since early 2020, we have been reviewing our company’s automatic pipe welding technology and field application plans with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries engineers, and based on our own investment and joint securing of government R&D projects for the development of stainless steel pipe orbital welding technology in the first half of 2021, we will expand not only the entire piping field but also the entire piping field. This was an opportunity to continue discussions on effective production technologies.

It is truly fortunate that the market conditions in the shipbuilding and marine sectors, which had been in a long-term recession, have improved, but the problem is that it is difficult to secure skilled workers in the welding field, so many disruptions to production strategies are expected.
Accordingly, the demand for highly functional and intelligent welding technology is bound to spread rapidly, and our company plans to apply the capabilities we have prepared so far to the market as much as possible.

There was so much interest that the CEO of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and the director of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology participated, making it a meaningful event where pending issues and ways to overcome them were discussed.
